Neurons & Brain Diseases

The Institute of Cellular and Integrative Neurosciences of Strasbourg is a research laboratory dedicated to the study of the nervous system and its related disorders. For an international conference focused on neurological and brain diseases, the institute required the creation of a dedicated logo that subtly reflected the Alsace region while remaining appropriate for a scientific and international context.

Concept Development

Shaping the Idea

I focused on translating research insights and project constraints into a clear creative direction. By connecting scientific themes, regional references, and visual symbolism, the goal was to shape a concept that felt both meaningful and immediately legible, laying the foundation for a coherent and purposeful visual identity.

In this respect, three proposals were submitted.

The Pretzel Brain

 idea pretzelbrain

This first concept brings together a local symbol—the pretzel—and the laboratory’s area of expertise: the study of the brain. The color transitions evoke the transmission of information between neurons, while the central color accent highlights the laboratory’s Alsatian identity.
